One Lazy Saturday.....

Well, when you are on bedrest, each day pretty much starts the same. Except that today I actually was planning to go somewhere. I woke up very early this morning, around 5 or so and managed to stay quiet for almost an hour. Then, I just can't help it, if my husband moves or I think he might also be awake, I have to start talking to him. Finally, around 6, I started thinking about taking a shower. I didn't take one yesterday in the interest of not overdoing it. When I told my wonderful hubby I hadn't showered yesterday he told me that he was going to say something and I asked him "What?", then he said, "You stink." LoL....So, up I got and off to the shower I went. It feels so nice to be clean. Then, I came back to bed and we went back to sleep for a while. When we woke up again, I was hungry.....Dewayne offered me cereal with yogurt, but I was in the mood for Scrambled Eggs. I asked if he'd like to make the eggs, but he really wanted to give me cereal, so I finally consented to the cereal. He went downstairs and after a while I smelled something wonderful. Scrambled Eggs......he made them with a little bacon and cheddar cheese....yum!! After breakfast, I got up and went and found the camera, so we could take some new belly pics and a pic of us together......so far, we didn't have any of us that showed off my belly. After pictures, we got ready to go shopping for a new bra for me.....that was so tiring, but I found two that will work fine for now and after the baby comes. On our way home, we were listening to NPR and CarTalk was on. We like to listen to that when it's on and we are driving around....it is very entertaining and informative. It was snowing pretty hard this morning and it's still snowing. Well, after Car Talk, a comedy news show called Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, comes on for an hour. So, we decided to lay my seat back so I could relax and we went on a Saturday afternoon drive. It was nice to be out of the house for a while. The roads were a little slick but it was fun and Dewayne is a very good driver. :-)

Baby Photos & a Current Photo of a Happy Couple!!

Here are a couple of photos of Dewayne and I when we were babies and I am including the photo we took for our Christmas Card in December. It makes me wonder who our little monster is going to look like. If he or she will look more like Daddy or me or more of a combination of us!! I love the dark hair and dark eyes that my husband has and would just love it if the little munchkin took after Daddy more. But I will be happy and thankful for my baby, even if it does have blonde hair and green eyes like me!!

Grandma's Quilt

This is the quilt that Grandma made for Baby Kern. I told her that I really like red for either a boy or a girl and this is what she put together. I love it. I think it is absolutely beautiful and I hope that our little baby will treasure it and want to keep it as an "heirloom" even after he or she is grown up. :-) Now, Grandma is Dewayne's mom Ruth. This is her first biological grandchild that I am carrying. She had been spoiling me rotten and when baby gets here (and even now) he or she is going to be spoiled by Grandma. Ruth loves all her "grandkids" that have come before and all that will be coming. But this one is special because it's her "baby" boy's baby!! I am so thankful for a mom-in-law that loves me as a daughter and I love her so much. It helps to have a wonderful mom-in-law who will be a wonderful Grandma for my baby because my Mama isn't here to be Mummo to my baby. And she lives close by, only 25 minutes away. Baby will get lots of loving attention from Grandma and her husband, Grandpa Roy! Thanks, Mom!!

My First Attempt at a BLOG!!

Hello, there. This is a new thing for me. I have written little blog items on my mySpace page but I have never had a BlogSpot before. Being put on full bedrest with 3 weeks & 4 days left till my baby's due date has forced me into this "desperate" situation. :-) LOL.....I have thought about starting a blog before but haven't done it. Always too busy, or some such excuse. Now I have no excuses, just time on my hands. I am grateful there is something I can do to help my baby stay in my belly a little longer and if it takes laying around doing nothing to do it, then that's what I am going to do. As of tomorrow, if the baby is born, it would no longer be deemed "preterm" and would most likely not have any serious complications to trouble it's entrance into this world. I am so thankful I have been able to get this far and baby has been very active in my tummy. I need to get a new pic of me, now that I am at 37 weeks. I think the last pic Dewayne took of me was taken about 5 weeks ago. :-) I couldn't be doing this without my wonderful husband (Really, in so many ways)!! He has been my lifeline, support and so amazing. He has been cooking dinner, doing dishes, grocery shopping, whatever needs to be done. Taking time off from work to drive me into Anchorage for my Doctor's appts. He is truly an incredible husband and I have been so blessed.
