Hello..........

............…..it's been a long, long, time.

Wow, it's been a few years since I posted here on this blog. AND I was looking back to when I started it. I had just been put on bedrest while awaiting the birth of my (our) first child back in 2009.

A whole lot has changed since 2009 and even since 2015...….

These hooligans used to be so tiny and now they are 9, 6 and 6 years old.

They join me on wild and crazy hiking adventures, cheer me on while I study.....(or is that them fighting in the other room?) and make life so much fuller and happier than I even could have imagined.

Life with this handsome man makes me smile!

I was in the midst of recovery and healing when I last wrote a blog post back in 2015. How did the time go by so fast? In October 2015, after trying to follow a low carb diet with no real guidelines and other than being told that I needed to eat oatmeal every day to help bring my cholesterol numbers down not having any really direction for eating "good", I discovered Trim Healthy Mama. It had been floating around my circles, so I was a little familiar with it. So when I asked the PA at my Dr's office if there was a "plan" she'd recommend to get the results I needed and she said Trim Healthy Mama, it was a God-send!! I'll do another post about how well that worked for me, sometime soon. Along with a post of what lead me up to getting a hysterectomy back in 2015, too! It was a long journey to that point!

I'm happy to be back to blogging. I'm hoping to share some of my fun new clothing/style choices, my new hairstyle (super short) and some of my favorite hikes and Alaskan adventures, how I see hearts everywhere.....and I really mean EVERYWHERE, some of my photos that I've taken with my Nikon D3300 DSLR camera (or my cell phone, ha ha) and maybe some of my favorite THM and Keto-style recipes!

Thursday ~ Baking day

Yep, I baked on this Thursday. Cookies. I don't like to bake. At least that's what I've always said, thought, felt. I enjoyed making cookies.....two whole batches. One Chocolate Chip and one Oatmeal Scotchies. Yummm. The chocolate chip were too cakey and thick.....Dewayne likes them thinner and crisper and they were made just for him. He took them to share with the guys at work. The oatmeal scotchies were just the right thinness and crispiness. I shared with some friends. My sweet baby spent time crawling around the floor, sitting in his eating chair snacking on Cheerios and Puffs, and bouncing in his Jumperoo.........near the end of my cookie baking saga he was getting a little whiny, but I just talked to him a bit and after a while he got very quiet. He had fallen asleep in his Jumperoo. Aaahhhh. A quiet house, delicious smells wafting through the house and waiting for my honey to come home so I could surprise him with freshly baked cookies. And it was a big surprise, because his wife NEVER bakes!! :o) Well, I can't say never anymore.....I did bakes COOKIES!!
